Your career at TenMedia

We have been building custom software in Berlin-Mitte since 2011, for companies and public sector clients. We work together in the office, on applications that are in daily use. Anyone joining has a dedicated contact person from day one. Whether you are starting out, changing career or bringing years of experience: what interests us is what you can do, not which degree is on your CV.

Nothing suitable today? This page is worth another look, new openings are added regularly. Anyone who would rather not wait can send a speculative application to jobs@tenmedia.de, with a cover letter, CV and, if available, references.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply at TenMedia? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
We accept applications by email at jobs@tenmedia.de. They should always include a cover letter, a CV, salary expectations and a possible starting date, plus references where available. For developer roles we also appreciate a link to a GitHub portfolio, which gives us a practical impression.
Are applications without a cover letter possible? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
No. An application without a cover letter will not be considered. We introduce ourselves openly and want, in turn, to understand a candidate's background and motivation. That includes a cover letter, a CV and, where available, references. This applies to all positions, including internships. We cannot process incomplete applications, so please submit complete documents only.
Are speculative applications welcome? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Yes. We welcome speculative applications at any time, ideally to jobs@tenmedia.de. Grades and certificates matter less to us than work samples: layouts from the design field, current code snippets from development, self-optimised pages from the SEO field. We reply as soon as we can.
Where is the office located? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Our office is at Weydingerstr. 14-16 in 10178 Berlin, between Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and Alexanderplatz. Both stations are within walking distance, with dense underground, city rail and tram connections.
What equipment do you work with? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up

We invest deliberately in every workstation. Each one comes with a height-adjustable desk, an ergonomic office chair, a current laptop, multiple monitors and an ANC headset. On the software side we use current tools throughout, from office and graphics applications to development software. We make a point of staying up to date rather than getting stuck on old versions.

If something is missing, a simple request is enough and it is arranged at short notice. We review our setup regularly anyway and welcome suggestions from the team: those who work with it every day know best what is needed.

As we work fully on site, a good workstation in the office matters all the more to us.

What does TenMedia offer besides salary? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
We review our benefits regularly and adapt them to the needs of the team. We currently offer a permanent employment contract, 30 days of annual leave with straightforward scheduling and flexitime within core hours. There is also a daily meal allowance, a childcare allowance, a public transport pass, a training budget by arrangement and the option to obtain Scrum Master or Product Owner certifications. Drinks and snacks are provided in the office, and we add requests to the weekly shopping. Dogs are welcome with us.
Are there internships or entry-level opportunities? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Yes. We advertise internships in application development and IT systems management. They explicitly serve to build practical professional experience: an internship runs in the same subject areas as the team works in, but covers its own tasks. The basis is a training plan we have refined over the years. At the start we agree the content individually so that it matches the respective level of knowledge and personal goals. Support includes weekly feedback sessions, a dedicated contact person and, in the development area, joint co-coding sessions. For an internship we also expect a regular application with complete documents, meaning a cover letter, CV, salary expectations and a possible starting date. For internships in development, there is an additional case study to be completed independently from home beforehand.
How is salary determined? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Salary with us depends on experience and area of responsibility, with additional allowances for specific project roles. We do not publish fixed figures across the board because they differ by role, prior experience and scope of work. This is why we ask for salary expectations in the application: for us they form the basis for the conversation, not a criterion for exclusion.
Which technologies do you work with? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Our focus is on PHP with Laravel and Symfony, alongside JavaScript, Vue.js and Livewire on the front end. In operations we use Docker, MySQL, Redis and, depending on the project, Kubernetes, hosted with providers including Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. Version control runs on Git, and our project work follows Scrum principles. As we build custom software, the stack differs from project to project.
Is a specific degree required? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
No. What counts for us is what someone can do, not which degree appears on the CV. Grades and certificates play a minor role; what carries weight for us are work samples: code snippets or a GitHub portfolio from development, layouts from design, self-optimised pages from the SEO field. A career change into the field is expressly welcome.
Will I receive a reply in every case, including a rejection? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Yes. We reply to every application, including when the decision is negative. We handle the sending through our recruiting tool, and emails of this kind tend to end up in spam folders more often than others. It is worth checking there before assuming no reply has been sent. Anyone who has not heard back after a while is welcome to call and ask.
Can I apply again after a rejection? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
Yes. A rejection always relates to a specific position at a specific time and is not a permanent exclusion. Requirements, open positions and a candidate's own career all change over time, so a new application is welcome at any point, whether for a different opening or later for a similar role. A speculative application is also possible.
How do you handle overtime? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
We work with core hours and flexitime. Additional hours worked on one day can be balanced out on other days. This is based on digital time tracking in which every minute is recorded. Nothing is lost in the process, and no one has to keep track of their own hours on the side.
Is remote work possible at TenMedia? keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up
No. All positions at TenMedia are on-site roles at the office in Berlin-Mitte. This applies to permanent positions and internships alike. Anyone looking to work predominantly remotely will not find the right setup here.
The following applies to all openings: what counts are references, practical experience, a positive attitude and high motivation, not formal degrees or certificates.
