The Project
For the Bezirksregierung Köln, one of the largest state authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia, a fully accessible intranet application was created.
Various data sources were migrated and consolidated in compliance with data protection law and made available through a unified interface. The existing IBM Informix database system remained fully integrated. PHP and Laravel power the backend, Vue.js and Tailwind CSS the frontend. The outcome is a central, privacy-compliant application that reliably supports day-to-day work in the authority.
The Challenge
The central challenge was migrating and consolidating diverse data sources in a privacy-compliant way, including ensuring compatibility with IBM Informix, and making them available through a single, fully accessible interface for all employees.
Our Technologies
We developed an intranet application that bundles several database systems in one consistent, fully accessible interface. The backend is built on PHP and Laravel, the frontend on Vue.js and Tailwind CSS. The migration ensured compatibility with IBM Informix, and login runs directly against the authority’s Active Directory. The Vue interface is built as a single-page application whose API access is secured by Laravel Passport.
