Cross-site inventory solution for a regional job placement service
The Project
For JOB POINT, a multi-site service funded by the Berlin Senate administration, a central, cross-site administration and inventory platform was created. More than ten years of legacy data moved into the new system, external companies were connected directly, and inventory and placement work have run in one application ever since.
A database with comprehensive business logic serves several user interfaces at once and integrates physical scanners directly into the inventory process. Cross-site inventory and placement now run efficiently and transparently.
The Challenge
Across several Berlin locations, a continuous inventory process and the support of job seekers and employers had to be brought together in a single application, including the migration of more than ten years of legacy data and the integration of external companies. And because work continued daily at the sites, the changeover had to succeed without interrupting day-to-day business.
Our Technologies
We developed a database with comprehensive business logic, several user interfaces and hardware integration for physical scanners, built with Laravel, Vue.js, Tailwind CSS, PHP and JavaScript as well as MySQL and MariaDB. Laravel Reverb delivers real-time updates between the sites. Roles and permissions separate the sites cleanly, while central reports make the overall stock visible across all locations, and the Vue interfaces share one secured API.
