Sharing platform for sustainable lean management processes
The Project
The Industriekreisel is a scalable sharing platform for sustainable lean management processes that centrally records unused industrial resources and makes them available to a user community. Complex warehouse management and inventory processes become easily accessible, on top of a cleanly structured architecture that can be extended at will.
The container-based application combines groupware functions for industrial teams with simple booking for regular users. Born in a university context, the highly scalable platform makes industrial resources efficiently shareable.
The Challenge
Industrial warehouse management and inventory processes are complex, but their users are not always IT-savvy. The platform had to do both, offer professional depth for industrial teams and low-threshold booking for regular users, on a cleanly structured architecture that can be extended at will. Added to this was the ambition to keep stocks current in real time when several parties book at the same time.
Our Technologies
We implemented a container-based, scalable application architecture with groupware functions for industrial teams and simple booking for regular users. The stack comprises WebSocket, PHP, Laravel, MySQL, Alpine.js, Tailwind CSS and Docker. Laravel Octane accelerates the application, and an accompanying React Native app brings booking to the smartphone. WebSockets keep bookings and stocks in sync for everyone involved, even when several teams work at the same time.
