The Project
The new database solution for the Berolina funeral institute enables structured recording, processing and analysis of death cases. Thanks to the relaunch, employees benefit from more efficient workflows and a future-proof working environment.
Death cases can be managed securely and efficiently, complemented by reporting, invoicing and merchandise management. The application is designed to minimise accessibility barriers and can be used from any internet workstation. This creates space for empathetic contact with bereaved families, while administration runs reliably in the background.
The Challenge
Day-to-day work covers a wide range of tasks, from order intake and processing through merchandise management to interfaces with private and public institutions that entail numerous regulatory requirements. At the same time, empathy and compassion must always be maintained when dealing with bereaved families.
The Solution
Conception and new development produced a modern, tailor-made system for the secure and efficient management of death cases. With integrated functions for reporting, invoicing and merchandise management, work processes are simplified and the team is relieved. The application can now be used conveniently from any internet workstation.
Our Technologies
In the funeral sector, data protection and resilience are essential. We implemented a scalable, secure system architecture based on PHP, MySQL and Laravel, operated container-based with Docker and FrankenPHP, that enables collaboration across branches, accommodates individual information needs and maps processes flexibly and in compliance with data protection.
A user-friendly interface in a modern dark mode, built with Laravel Livewire and largely without JavaScript, together with a consistent Scrum approach with continuous monitoring and maintenance, supports stable operation and ongoing development.
