The Project
Since 2011, Writeree has been connecting clients and qualified authors for writing, translation, editing and proofreading. TenMedia built the marketplace from scratch and has supported it ever since, including three comprehensive relaunches with around four months of full-time development each.
The current version is based on PHP and Laravel and integrates MangoPay as a payment system that brings both sides together securely. More than a decade of continuous development shows how a platform can grow steadily over time.
The Challenge
A marketplace that has been running continuously since 2011 makes different demands than a greenfield build. Writeree was developed from scratch and has been supported ever since, including three comprehensive relaunches, each a project of roughly four months of full-time work. Each of these rebuilds had to happen during live marketplace operation, without endangering orders, user accounts or payment processing.
Our Technologies
Technically, the platform today runs on PHP with Laravel, the interface relies on Zurb Foundation after earlier stages had run on Joomla and Bootstrap. MangoPay handles the payments between clients and authors securely and accompanies every assignment reliably from offer to payout. Three relaunches in more than a decade have renewed the technology again and again, without interrupting the live marketplace.
