Operation and maintenance of a highly available digitisation web shop
The Project
For medienrettung, we modernised the existing order management system, developed it further and migrated it seamlessly to a powerful, secure hosting environment. The system provides administration, management and support for all orders relating to media digitisation.
TenMedia took over the system during live operation and has been running it with high availability ever since, with comprehensive monitoring and regular updates. For 19 years, medienrettung has been digitising image and audio media, trusted by the Bundesarchiv.
The Challenge
The challenge was to take over an existing ordering system during live operation and modernise it from the ground up. The goal was to comply with strict data protection and IT security standards while ensuring high system availability and flexibility, even as requirements changed.
The Solution
We brought the frontend and backend up to date, both technically and visually. Infrastructure, operation and support are provided entirely from a single source. Thanks to an intuitive, responsive design, usability has improved noticeably, and all orders can be managed and processed with ease. Comprehensive monitoring, regular updates and transparent processes ensure a reliable and sustainable working environment.
Our Technologies
We ensure reliable operation and continuous further development within the scope of a maintenance agreement, based on stable hosting technologies (Ubuntu, Caddy with FrankenPHP, Cloudflare, Docker Compose, MySQL, Redis) and structured processes (Azure DevOps). An upstream shield absorbs attacks and load peaks before they reach the platform, and updates run through defined maintenance processes. This keeps operation predictable, for us and for the client alike.
