Smart online shop with a magazine on nutritional supplements
The Project
iNutro evolved from a nutrition blog into a smart online shop with an accompanying magazine for nutritional science. Editorial content and sales interlocked seamlessly. Readers of an expert article found the matching product just one click away. Technically, the task lay in cleanly connecting various payment providers and dropshippers to the shop. Backend and frontend were designed for reliable, maintainable shop operation.
The Challenge
A shop growing out of a blog brings its own hurdles. Integrating the online shop functions had to preserve the editorial character, while various payment providers and dropshippers needed to be cleanly connected to ordering and shipping processes. Each of these interfaces follows its own rules and formats, and together they had to carry smooth sales.
Our Technologies
The backend was developed with PHP, the shop functions were extended via PrestaShop and the frontend was built with Bootstrap. The real work lay in the connections. Every payment provider and every dropshipper brings its own interfaces and processes, which were translated into unified ordering and shipping workflows. The result was a pragmatic, maintainable basis on which editorial content and sales share the same site.
